This pretty cottage in Polruan is full of charm with white and natural wood decor as well as beautiful views over the water from the pretty garden. Just 2 miles away is the coastal National Trust site of Lantic Bay with its sheltered cove and calming atmosphere where you could spend a day with the family with a picnic and a walk with your toes in the water.

Welcoming you into the property is the spacious kitchen/diner where you can cook and eat with your loved ones beneath the beamed ceilings. The space is bursting with character, retaining many of its original features and flooded with light from the windows. In the evening, find respite in the living room which takes inspiration from the sea views which can be seen out of the large window, and features a unique feature fireplace at its centre. Tucked away under the stairs is a handy laundry room, perfect for those travelling with younger children. Upstairs on the first floor are two bedrooms, the first a vibrantly decorated room with a king-size bed, and the second, a tasteful double. Both bedrooms share the use of the traditional shower room. Out in the garden you’ll find a terraced area with seating to offer you an area to kick back and relax, soaking up the marvellous views come morning, noon and night.

Head off on a hike along the South West Coast Path to Polperro (7 miles) to experience the rugged natural beauty of this part of the world and enjoy panoramic views of the ocean. For a less active but just as exciting day out, why not visit the Eden Project where you can step inside the exotic biomes and feel as if you’ve stepped entirely out of Cornwall? It’s a plant lovers’ haven with plenty of interactive exhibits, children’s play areas and plenty of tasty treats to fuel a full day out.

we had a great holiday - apart from the awful weather (not the fault of the cottage owner) however not much to do with to dogs in the rain. the property is on a very steep hill, both ways - ie going up to the car park and going down to the village, if you are not fairly fit you will struggle

Great place to stay, fantastic views. You need to be good at walking up hills and steps. But well worth the effort when you see the views!

The positive is the wonderful location and superb views down the Fowey Estuary. The cottage is homely and very suitable for a holiday let, although it might struggle with more than a couple staying, as there were fairly limited numbers of mugs and such. There was a gap in the fencing mesh opposite the front door, which the dogs found straight away Read moreand through which they could get as far as the wall and drop to the footpath. We put a chair across it to block it. Lovely location. Hide
