Take a deep breath and soak up the stunning countryside views from this first-floor apartment. Set on a complex of 11 properties, this two-bed flat makes an ideal base for a small family or one to two couples and includes up to two canine companions. Near the Polperro Heritage Coast with its smuggling past, Polruan and Polperro are both within 4 miles in different directions, with dog-friendly Lansallos Beach in the middle (2.5 miles). All on one level, this practical property also benefits from the shared on-site facilities including the garden and grounds, games room, play park indoor swimming pool, sauna and hot tub.

From the courtyard, access is via an external staircase, with the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner the entry point. This dual-aspect space is bright and airy with exposed stonework and beams lending it character. Comfortable sofa seating works for napping, watching TV or just admiring the rural idyll you’re in. Around the corner, the galley kitchen is perfectly formed for holiday catering, with a table for eating your meals. Opt to sleep in a double bedroom or a twin with an additional single bed for a child only. Outside, enjoy your own garden area with furniture and a BBQ for fun holiday times.

Enjoy what’s on offer on-site; it won’t be hard to keep yourselves amused here! But, if Cornwall calls for you to venture further, head out towards the coast for walking along the South West Coast Path. The dogs will love it! Beach-hop along this gorgeous coastline. National Trust’s Lantic Bay encapsulates the craggy majesty of this county but, while it’s a fab spot for paddling or a picnic, the path down (and up) is steep. Brush up your botany at the Eden Project (13 miles) which welcomes dogs on leads, except in the biomes.
