Getaway to the Corish coast with a stay in this quirky cottage which is bursting with character from the exposed stone fireplace to the exposed beams of the bedroom. Located close to the coast, you’ll have the chance to visit a number of fine golden sands from the pristine stretch of Hayle Beach (3 miles) to the surf hotspot of Praa Sands (10 miles).
Opening up into a porch area, you can put down your coats and shoes before walking down a couple of steps into this beautifully renovated cottage. The first room is a games room where the family can gather together to play table football or sit and read a book by the wood burner. Next door is the living room with a velvet sofa and armchair surrounded by unique furnishings and a show-stopping exposed stone fireplace. As you enter the kitchen, the natural wood-clad wall and curved kitchen island are the focal points of the room, with light pouring in through the windows and creating a social space to cook. Dine in style in the garden room, equipped with a table seating four, an armchair and a set of sliding doors which extend the area into the great outdoors. From here you can access the pretty garden which has a patio, lawn and seating area for your enjoyment. The two bedrooms can be accessed via the staircase, with a country-style king-size retaining a number of original features including the floors and beams and a playful twin which is well-suited to children. Connecting the bedrooms is a Jack and Jill bathroom.
From your cottage, you can take the walking trail which stretches just under 6 miles to Godrevy National Trust and beyond through countryside pathways and over to the rugged coastline where you’ll see the octagonal tower of Godrevy lighthouse in the distance. Take a day trip to the beautiful beach of Marazion to see the iconic St Michael’s Mount (12 miles). If you time it right with the tide, you may even be able to walk over to the quaint island to explore its exotic plants and historic castle. Visit Falmouth (15 miles) to discover local artists showing their art in galleries, take a wildlife-watching boat trip from the harbour or take a dip in the tranquil turquoise waters at Gyllyngvase Beach.
