The town itself has several places to eat and shops to peruse, as well as the superb Newquay Zoo, which is a great family day out. Try paddleboarding or kayaking, if surfing isn’t your thing. Find a different pace of life at the charming fishing port town of Padstow (16 miles) on the Camel Estuary, or enjoy walks along the fabulous South West Coast Path, which cusps the shoreline through this beautiful part of the country.
