A perfect romantic bolthole for active couples set on the cusp of Bodmin Moor and close to Boscastle, this dog-friendly accommodation is in an ideal location for explorers of coast and countryside. Take a walk around the picnic lake or serve an ace on the tennis court.
This quaint, cosy, single-storey cottage is within a small and peaceful complex next to a trickling river. Head inside via the porch and place your walking boots down and hang your coats. Fire up the warming wood burner in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and get comfortable on the sofas watching movies, after eating a hearty home-cooked meal. A light and bright bedroom has a double bed, and completing the interior is a practical bathroom. Outside to the rear of the cottage is an enclosed patio garden. Take a seat and enjoy dining alfresco while listening to the flow of the river. After this, don your whites and have a game, set and match on the shared tennis court.
Set in a rural spot in the Inny Vale, you will find walks and cycling routes from the doorstep. There is a lovely circular walk from here that passes a disused airfield, through the tree tunnel, and along countryside tracks and lanes. For days by the coast, head to Boscastle (6 miles), a quaint fishing village which is home to the intriguing Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. You can also join the South West Coast Path that runs through here and winds along the coasts and cliffs. For fabulous days out, head to Launceston Steam Railway (13 miles) to take a train ride, or spend a day at the fabulous biomes of the Eden Project (25 miles).
