Experience comfortable, homely living in this open-plan studio-style space where whitewashed stone walls and exposed wooden beams overhead maintain a sense of rustic charm throughout. The well-equipped kitchen comes with everything you need to whip up a delicious meal that can be enjoyed either at the breakfast table or outside under the delightful gazebo surrounded by lawn and with the moorland of Bodmin just beyond. There’s even a BBQ provided that’s sure to come in handy on a warm summer evening. Back inside, a wide, curtained archway and one step lead from the kitchen to the living/sleeping area with a two-seater sofa and inviting double bed that promises a good night’s sleep in this quiet rural location. A stylish shower room completes this delightful home.

Being located within the Bodmin Moor Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, glorious walks begin from your doorstep with direct access to the rolling moorland. Unique opportunity to be in the moors, without artificial light in the evening so the sky is absolutely beautiful! Peaceful location and a nice welcome from the owners, felt relaxed and energised after a week there

Ideal location for travelling around Cornwall, the cottage was perfect for two adults and a dog. Nicky and Michael were excellent hosts and the duck's and chickens roaming around was quite fascinating.

Superb location in its own right and for visits to the coast (even in very wet and windy conditions). Warm welcome and helpful tips to make the most of our stay, avoiding some of the crowds.

From the day we arrived to the day we left, we had an amazing experience. The 'boffy'was more than we expected. Cosy, warm and wanted for nothing. Moorland on your doorstep which we took full advantage of. A walk to ' rough tor' a must as the views were stunning. Pub only a short walk. Be aware the portion sizes are on the large size.... Lovely remote location, although basic it has everything you would need for a perfect stay. The hosts are a lovely couple who were very attentive to any requests and fantastic hosts. This is the second time we have stayed at the Moorland Retreat and were not disappointed. We look forward to returning next year. Thank you.

A very cosy little bolt hole away from the busy world. Lovely walks directly from the door out on to Bodmin moor. We followed the Just Three Words app to find the property and it took us directly to the gate!

We have just spent a lovely week there, our only feedback would be to look at replacing the mattress on the bed which was uncomfortable, probably down to wear and tear. Other than that the place was great and we would highly recommend and definitely stay again
