Book a peaceful family trip to this delightful barn conversion near Poldice Valley in Cornwall, surrounded by wonderful walking and cycling trails that’ll soon recharge your batteries. It’s in the sweet village of St Day with a pub and shop within 350m and a plethora of options nearby, from scenic coastal towns like Portreath (6 miles) to bustling towns like Truro (7.5 miles) and Falmouth (10 miles). The property is exquisitely decorated and sleeps five guests in its two bedrooms, with two dogs welcome to join you for the trip.

This glorious rustic accommodation has been renovated to a very high standard and retains some of its original features such as vaulted ceilings and exposed stonework. After busy days out exploring, sink into the inviting sofa and savour the crackling warmth of the open fire. For entertainment, either switch on the Smart TV or while away a few hours competing on the mini football table or just reading a book. Cook up a storm in the open-plan kitchen/diner and sit down to leisurely meals together and when it’s time to retire, have a soak in the roll-top bath before turning in. Outside there’s a charming terrace with seating for al fresco breakfasts. A pathway leads to a glorious meadow and woodland walk your pets will love, and a clearing with a fire pit to create special memories with your loved ones.

When it’s time to venture out, head north to Porthtowan (6.5 miles) where a glorious sandy beach awaits, and you can join the South West Coast Path for magical walks your pets will adore. Culture vultures will surely make a beeline for the National Trust site at Trelissick Garden (7.5 miles), with a parkland, woodland, shoreline and beach to explore, while the Kennall Vale Nature Reserve (5 miles) is excellent for walking the dog. The Flambards Theme Park (13.5 miles) is bound to be a hit with any children in your party.

Had a very nice stay, the location is great as its central to alot of tourist hotspots and local shops and pubs. The only negatives we found is that The cottage has all the amenities needed as well as a large kitchen. The cottage is overlooked by a facing neighbour. Overall nice stay.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Cornwall, the house is very attractive and comfortable - the kitchen in particular is a really beautiful space with lots of sunshine throughout the day. The location is great for visiting attractions in all directions as there's lots to do within a 45min radius (though perhaps less on your doorstep). Decor is a littRead morele rough around the edges in places. If you have a big car then you will likely struggle with the driveway as it's very narrow. Hide
