You won’t have to scrimp on style or comfort when staying here in Fowey, discovering this beautiful period property that’s been lovingly updated with an opulent décor. Perched on the banks of the Fowey Estuary and boasting far-reaching views across this water, this wonderful holiday home welcomes six guests and one dog, an ideal choice for a group of friends or a family looking to create some new memories together. Perfect for both summer and winter months, enjoy the summer house and pretty, private garden when the sun shines or curl up indoors by the cosy wood burner in colder weather.

High ceilings and impressive feature windows are just some of the original features that set this property apart from the rest. The décor has maintained this traditional style whilst including plenty of modern appliances and up-to-date additions. The lounge/kitchen/diner is a generous space that’s open plan so everyone can chat. Sink into inviting sofas and flick through the Smart TV after dinner, or perhaps spark some family rivalry with a games night. The chef of the group will enjoy both the range-style oven and the American fridge/freezer, whilst we’re sure everyone in the party will appreciate luxury touches like a Delonghi coffee machine and dishwasher.

Wander the 0.5 miles down into the centre of Fowey to truly make yourselves at home in this harbour town. Enjoy walks up to St Catherine’s Castle and Readymoney Cove (1 mile), picking up locally caught seafood from independent retailers on the route home. Fowey itself sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you’re certain to find an abundance of wonderful walking routes right on your doorstep. Link up with the South West Coast Path (1.5 miles) to appreciate some of the area’s most dramatic seascapes, creating wonderful memories you won’t be quick to forget.

We loved Portingales, it was very comfortable and ideally positioned for us being a short walk from town and Caffa Mill carpark. The house is beautifully decorated and is ideal for family holidays. The garden is also lovely with great views, we spent a couple of lovely afternoons sat in the sunshine. Hopefully we can return again soon.

!SELECTED!Found it strange that there was a coffee machine but no coffee provided. Ended up having to go out for coffee every morning. !ENDOFSELECTED!House and location was great and very clean. Parking in carpark close by very easy and surprisingly cheap. 4.30pm check in quite late when driving a long way.

The cottage is in an excellent position to explore Fowey and Polruan. It is quiet, warm and very comfortable. Views from the lounge across the estuary are superb, with the added interest of the small ferry going past. Very dog friendly with towels/blankets and a dog poo bin in the garden. Garden is up lots of steps which may not be easy for those wRead moreith limited mobility. Hide
