We had a wonderful week in Standing Stones. The cottage is well equipped, quiet, and has a nice garden with a great view over the countryside but is also close to the pubs and shops in Newlyn. There a several footpaths nearby and it was a good starting point for walks with our dog.

The complementary cream tea and wine was extremely lovely and well received. The cottage was dirty and noisy we only stayed 5 days but we would have left on the day we arrived but we had come to Cornwall for my daughters wedding and I didnt want to upset her on the day and her week.

A really lovely little cottage, well equipped and comfortable. Brilliant to have parking and an enclosed garden, which is pretty rare in Newlyn, and important if you have dogs. And you can walk your dog straight from the cottage through fields and footpaths. The walk down to the harbour with all its great cafes, restaurants and shops is about 10 toRead more 15 minutes and a bit longer on the way back up but perfectly doable. Ideal location for exploring the far west of Cornwall. Hide

Would not recommend as dog owners. Could not make full use of facilities such as hot tub which we were explicitly told was fully secured and contained within the garden; this is not the case as it shared and contained outside the garden. The neighbours dog jumped the fence and was roaming around our secure garden. Extremely unhappy with the experieRead morence, felt misled with the information and would not have chosen the property otherwise. Response from Holiday Cottages - thank you for taking the time to review your stay at this property. We can assure you that the issue with the visit from the neighbour's dog has now been addressed for future guests. We have also clarified the description of the garden layout to prevent any confusion. This property is well loved by guests as you can see from other reviews. Hide

Beautiful location and views. Very peaceful at night and during the daytime. The garden is lovely. Parking was easy. Lovely homemade scones and bottle of Prosecco on arrival which was very nice. The kitchen is well equipped.Bed was a bit on the hard side for me but thats personal preference. The sofa really could do with being changed to something Read morea little bigger and more comfortable. Unfortunately there was an odour issue with the fridge and also the sofa which was a shame. Very much appreciated cream tea left for us on arrival & the delicious locally roasted bag of ground coffee! Also liked the privacy of our stay. The hill down to Newlyn is very steep but the bonus is the lovely country views & wonderful birds- swifts, swallows etc.. Lovely Garden well kept. Weather wasnt good so didnt use the hot tub or bar area.
