Set on the sublime St Agnes Heritage Coast, friends and families can find a piece of heaven in this sweet sanctuary. Porthtowan has a village shop, two excellent bars, a beautiful beach with its own outdoor rock/swimming pool and direct access to the exquisite South West Coast Path. Take the breathtaking 2.5-mile walk to Wheal Coates tin mine and iconic Towanroath engine house, on the cliffs overlooking Chapel Porth Beach. Discover St Agnes’ delightful dog-friendly beach, independent shops, galleries and eateries and superb 17th-century pubs (4.5 miles). Like the others, Portreath beach (4.5 miles) is brilliant for surfing.

Inside, you’ll find a beautiful blend of bright nautical touches and cosy, contemporary comfort. After sparkling days of sand and surf, sightseeing and shopping, gather round the wood burner in the open-plan lounge/diner for convivial evenings of wine and reminiscence, local ales and tales. Create sumptuous seafood feasts in the streamlined kitchen, and savour them in the conservatory dining room or al fresco on the enclosed patio. On the first floor, soak away salt and sand in the blissful family bathroom, before nightcaps and dreamy sleeps in the double bedroom with sea views and a king size zip and link bed, and a bunk bedroom; the second-floor king-size loft room has vaulted ceilings, VELUX windows and an en-suite WC.

Find more fabulous beaches at wide and sandy Perranporth, pretty Perran Sands and Penhale’s Special Area of Conservation (8/11/11.5 miles); the surf-haven of Newquay (16 miles) has a plethora of gorgeous golden sands. Spot seals, sharks, dolphins and whales around Godrevy Lighthouse (11 miles), and discover Hayle’s seemingly endless beach (13 miles). Head to the seaside town of St Ives with its myriad of art galleries (19.5 miles). Explore Truro, Falmouth and Penzance (10/15/20 miles).

There was literally everything anyone could wish for, inside and out. Not only for the adults but also for children. Not the fanciest place we have stayed in - over the years we have stayed in alot of places, but honestly, the best catered for. Just the best. And the fittings are quality. And a hot electric shower - unheard of usually. Superb beds,Read more good furnishings, beautiful floweres, lovely view. And the most incredible 'goodies' Can't rate it highly enough. Hide
