This beautiful property sleeps four guests and is set in the ancient fishing village of Polruan. Full of quintessential Cornish charm, you'll find plenty to explore both in Polruan and across the water in the popular town of Fowey. It's the perfect destination to slip into a slower pace of life and leave feeling fully re-energised.
The cottage has been lovingly and sympathetically restored, retaining many original features such as the fabulous exposed beams in the lounge area. Here you'll also find a roaring open fire – perfect for snuggling in front of on chillier evenings – and a delightful window seat to sit and watch the world go by. A coastal theme runs throughout the property, as a constant reminder of the gorgeous waterside setting. The light and airy kitchen/diner is ideal for socialising and outside there's a sunny courtyard with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining.
There are many historic sites to explore on foot from the property, such as Polruan Blockhouse which dates back to 1380 and is just 0.5 miles away. From here, you can enjoy a romantic stroll along the Hall Walk to Bodinnick. The 4-mile circular route treats you to some stunning estuary views through Du Maurier country. The regular passenger ferry makes it easy to pop over to Fowey (it takes just over 10 minutes), where you can browse the local galleries and artisan shops and indulge in a tasty Cornish cream tea in one of the many independent cafes. At the town hall, during summer months, there's a fantastic museum and an aquarium where you can while away an afternoon.
