A former 16th century Inn, this delightful picturesque cottage is a perfect retreat and base to explore the historic village of Boscastle and beyond.

Formerly a 16th-century inn, this historic, quirky cottage is full of charm. Situated just above the pretty village of Boscastle in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is ideal for a family or couples seeking a Cornish property with character.

With its exposed beams, stone walls and flagstone floors, this delightful old property oozes history. The comfortable lounge, with its leather sofas and woodburner, is perfect for relaxing in the evening as the sun dips down. Cook up a meal in the spacious, well-equipped kitchen/diner – an ideal space for socialising after a day out in the sunshine. A second sitting area – the snug – offers a cosy alternative to the lounge and is a quiet space to relax with the newspaper after breakfast. The steep staircase leads up to three comfortable bedrooms, all of them full of character with exposed beams and sloping ceilings, and with stunning views of the lush countryside. Outside, the enclosed, private courtyard offers a delightful space to sit back with a drink and soak up the sunshine.

The picturesque village of Boscastle is full of history and its spectacular surrounding coastline has inspired many writers and artists, including Thomas Hardy. Further afield, the stunning coastline of North Cornwall beckons you. Wend your way through the scenic countryside to spectacular Tintagel (4.5 miles), the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, or head further south to picture-perfect Port Isaac (12 miles). A lovely cottage in a lovely village. Only let down by bad coal fire smell in television room (used coal put back in open coal bucket) and not being aired regularly throught the whole cottage. We had no broadband for the first two days but this was solved by contact. Otherwise we had a great week Nd would recommend to anyone looking for a cottage iRead moren North Cornwall. Hide

Fantastic property in stunning Boscastle.. Definitely recommend it. Parking is a bit tricky, I parked over night in the doctors surgery 2 mins down the hill and didnt get a ticket. Only a suggestion, not guaranteeing you wont get one..

Love Boscastle. Loved the history of the cottage. Cottage needs updating and a few issues with appliances which Im sure would be sorted out. The pretty walk down to the harbour is about 3/4 mile but a steep hill back up. Its perfect for dogs! Plenty of walks and the small stream to play in. Handy little dog shop for shampoo and spray so no smelly, Read moredirty dog in the house. Lovely shops. Witches museum is a must. Parking was an issue, no garden and the shower water pressure was low. Storage heater that were on during the heatwave was unfortunate. Apart from that the cottage was cosy and beds were very comfy. We had a lovely time.

Excellent property full of character and history. Location was perfect for us as we like walking and we found the walk into Boscastle refreshing. The napoleon inn served some great meals and all at reasonable prices. Highly recommend staying here and we would gladly return.

Lovely characteristic cottage. Felt very cosy. In a lovely location, but parking wasnt good. Oven needs upgrading as wasnt very efficient and it was hard to maintain hot water first thing for showers etc, immersion heater was linked to night storage. No outside area which wasnt mentioned and patio area could be made more inviting as its a very smalRead morel place. Hide
