With a balcony overlooking the beach and the River Fowey, Waterwitch Cottage offers guests picturesque views of nearby Fowey. Cosy, comfy and peppered with nautical nuances, this cottage will bring back all the nostalgia of the English seaside. Whether you're watching the world go by from the balcony, taking in the sun on the beach or hopping on the ferry across to Fowey, the simple beauty of the South Cornwall coast will wash over you in a calming wave.

The interior is full of quirky seaside touches, complementing the pastel blues and fresh whites that adorn the interior. Sip sundowners on the balcony as the sky turns pink: the perfect end to a day of adventure.

Just 3 miles from the cottage are the grassy cliffs of Gribbin Head, which offer stunning views over the English Channel. Watch the waves crash against the steep rocks below and listen to the hush of the tide. If it's man-made beauty you're after, then take a walk through the narrow streets of Polruan and stop off in one of the many traditional Cornish pubs that are squeezed into the tight alleys. For kids and adults alike, take the 15-minute ferry across to the busier town of Fowey, where you can learn something new at the Fowey Aquarium just 0.5 miles from the cottage.

  • Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging. Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps some of which can be steep.
  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village.
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards

  • Sorry, no dogs allowed
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

We absolutely love polruan and the view of the harbour lovely cottage perfect views, lovely well equipped cottage would love to return as this was our 2nd year at the cottage and loved it , just a 5min ferry journey and we were in fowey where everyone was so friendly and welcoming

Waterwitch is a lovely well equipped cottage in a fantastic location. The ever changing view across the estuary to Fowey, from both the lounge and the bedrooms, is absolutely fabulous. Gorgeous place to stay, that view is absolutely stunning, sat on the balcony overlooking the little beach below, what more could you ask for? We don't normally go back to the same place twice, but we definitely will do here.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage in a fantastic location overlooking the water across to Fowey. The size was ideal for our family and having a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier was handy. Only downside was parking up the steep hill but not a major issue, and were able to load and unload our luggage by temporarily parking aRead moret the quay. Polruan is a lovely quiet village, with easy access to Fowey and beautiful coastal walks. The view from the lounge will be much missed! Hide

As above, fantastic location even out of season, being able to hear the sea is a bonus, Waterwitch is the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in

We had a wonderful week at Waterwitch cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and very well equipped. So much activity on the river to watch from the balcony. Easy access to swim in the water that seemed very safe. The Ferry jetty is just round the corner, giving easy access to Fowey and its pubs and restaurants.

Comfortable, peaceful and relaxing place to be with an impressive and interesting view of Fowey and the constant varied river activity. Here, you really can hear the magical sound of the water as you lie in bed - very special!

Lovely house and location for 2 people. However the spare bed mattresses are long overdue for replacement & very uncomfortable. The shower in the ensuite was tricky to set a comfortable temperature but manageable, until the shower head was raised to head height, then a cold shock awaited the unwary. Otherwise we enjoyed our time at Waterwitch. StafRead moref at Polruan Cotts were efficient, friendly and helpful. Especially Charlotte. David & Louise. Hide

The property is in a lovely location with amazing views . We were lucky to have great weather for April although not warm enough to use the outside balcony . It provided everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday and the pub is just round the corner .
