Not far from the historic castle in the pretty fishing village of Polruan, Mayne Cottage promises stunning river views and an unforgettable stay. Spacious and cosy, this property provides all the creature comforts you need to be able to relax into your holiday and adopt that sleepy Cornish pace of life. Wake up in one of the bright and airy bedrooms looking out over the river, make yourself some breakfast and head out onto the patio to take in the view.

Whether you're snuggling up on the sofas in the open plan living area after a long day exploring or cooking up a storm in the large kitchen, Mayne Cottage will feel like a place that you've known for years. Curl up on the window seat in one of the bedrooms with a book and soak up the superb views of the River Fowey. In the evenings, the glow of the wood burner will keep you toasty as you gather round the dining table for a home-cooked supper.

Head down to the centre of Polruan for pubs and cafes just over 300 metres from the property or take the ferry from The Quay over to Fowey to wander the wider selection of shops and eateries. Visit Fowey Aquarium, great for adults and children, before a walk along the South West Coast Path to Readymoney Cove and St Catherine's Castle. For a longer day out, you're only 16 miles in the car from the must-see Eden Project or 18 miles from the National Trust's Lanhydrock House.

Good location overlooking Fowey and Fowey harbour. Limit view from the terrace. Hard work if you have limited mobility given the village is on a hill side. Good location for visits to good restaurants and stately homes.

We had a great time in this lovely cottage. We were 4 adults, 2 young kids and a small dog and there was more than enough room. Great location really close to everything but nice and quiet at night. I would highly recommend for family stays.

Excellent cottage on a quiet street in Polruan . Just a quick hop over the water to Fowey . We have stayed here a few times now and it just keeps getting better . The outside space is fab for sitting and watching the river . Amazing views from bedrooms .

We love this beautiful cottage! Lovely harbor views from the bedrooms, and a great quiet position within quick walking distance of the quay and little cafes and pubs. We have stayed in many Polruan cottages before and this is one of our favorites. Thank you!

We had a wonderful holiday at Mayne Cottage, Polruan. Everything we needed was provided and we were very comfortable. The views, especially from the two main bedrooms was fantastic. We can recommend both pubs in the village for eating and both provide a takeaway menu.

A great cottage, really clean and tidy, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Polruan is a lovely friendly place with 2 great pubs, we'll be back. Obviously, as the description says, there's no parking but it does benefit from being right at the bottom of the road where you can easily stop and unload so not a concern.
