Forge Manor Cottage is a barn conversion packed with charm which enjoys a quiet, tucked away position. The stable door and exposed stone wall welcome you into the cosy living space where you can curl up in front of the wood burner and plan your break. The rural location combines woodlands and meadows with the promise of waves and sandy beaches only 2 miles away. The north coast is peppered with mining ruins and villages which host surfers and bodyboarders all year round. The large tidal reach means the coves and beaches here can look quite different depending on the height of the tide.
The cottage retains some signs of its former life as a barn: the thick walls and vaulted ceiling in the lounge combine with the comfy sofas and wood burner to create a cosy, traditional feel. If your stay is going to include surfing or cycling, there is additional storage at hand for your kit. If you don't bring you own cycles, you can hire ones locally and explore on two wheels. The enclosed garden is perfect for those visiting with children or dogs.
Portreath and the wider coast path can be accessed via the Mineral Tramways. This path runs from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran on the south coast for those who want a longer cycle. Explore the history of Cornish tin mining by visiting the ruins at Wheal Coates just outside St Agnes (5 miles), or simply enjoy the beaches that this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer.
