This charming single-storey cottage provides the perfect base for exploring the Atlantic coast and all the treasures that North Cornwall has to offer, including the historic medieval village of Tintagel. And once you’ve finished taking in the sights, returning home to a warming wood burner and a comfortable bed has never felt so good.
Thanks to the convenient open-plan layout of this chocolate-box cottage, everything you need is at your fingertips. Sit back on the sofas in the living area, put your feet up in front of the wood burner and pop the TV/DVD on for maximum relaxation. Preparing a delicious meal is no trouble with the help of the well-equipped kitchen, and the dining table makes a perfect setting to enjoy it. When the evening draws to a close, the cosy king-size bed will guarantee you a good night’s sleep. There is also a handy bathroom with a bath and WC. At the front of the property, a small patio area with a bench is tucked away, and guests can make use of a shared 5-acre paddock.
Undeniably the most exciting feature of the accommodation is its proximity to the famous Tintagel (3 miles), set atop the high cliffs of North Cornwall, and offering breathtaking scenery, intriguing Arthurian legends, and a new 60-metre footbridge connecting the mainland to the island on which the spectacular Tintagel Castle can be found. There’s even a Merlin’s Cave back down on sea level. Other worthwhile destinations include the golden sands and natural caves of Trebarwith Strand beach, just 2.5 miles away, and of course the plethora of traditional Cornish fishing ports, such as Boscastle (5.5 miles) and Port Isaac (9 miles) – where TV’s Doc Martin was filmed!
