great base for exploring this part of Cornwall as
the town has the
first bridge over the Camel estuary so
within 5 -10 miles’ drive, you have the choice of a number of glorious
sandy surfing beaches including Harlyn and Constantine Bay on the Padstow
side of the river or Polzeath, near Rock, on the other. Tremill Lodge is a
short step away from a number of restaurants, pubs and shops as well as a
cinema. The Camel Trail is also only a few minutes’ walk and provides a
level walk beside the picturesque river Camel to Padstow (4 miles) or up
river to Bodmin and Dunmere Woods. Alternatively, explore by bike, which
can be hired at the entrance to the Trail or bring your own. The Royal
Cornwall Show Ground hosts a number of annual events (not least the Royal
Cornwall
Show in June)
on the outskirts of the town – about 15 minutes walk. Wadebridge is a
sleepy market town situated off the A39 and so a number of historic
houses, beautiful gardens and the Eden Project are easily accessible.
