AVAILABLE FOR 2009
Full of
character this 17th century cottage (once part of the village
pub) is handily located on the A389 between Padstow (only 2 miles) and the
market town of Wadebridge (5 miles), in the pretty village of Little
Petherick, just opposite the 12th century church. The
cottage’s character is enhanced by beams, open fires, slate floors and
stone walls and finishing touches by the owners (who live in the studio
behind) which create a truly charming and cosy home from home. The
Maltsters has a sweet cottage garden to the front with a grape vine
growing over the kitchen door and an interesting and quirky garden to the
rear which leads up to a larger area at the top with lovely views over the
wooded valley. The cottage is very handy for the pretty and historic town
of Padstow with its delightful pubs, restaurants, galleries and shops and
the unspoilt harbour - still used by the local thriving fleet of inshore
fishing vessels who mainly fish for lobsters and crabs. Just a short step
or two from your front door is the Saints Way – an ancient trail which
dates back over 1,500 years – now a great favourite with walkers providing
fantastic views along the river estuary and is also rich in wildlife.
Families will delight in the stunning beaches all within 3 - 5 miles and
gourmets have a real treat in store in Padstow, only a couple of miles
away, home to Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, and also a number of other
award winning outlets from restaurants to pasty shops. There is a pub
just half a mile away at St Issey.
