to use your car in the evening. The Camel Trail is only just over 5 min
walk and provides a level walk beside the picturesque river Camel to
Padstow (4 miles) or up river to Bodmin and Dunmere Woods in the other
direction. Alternatively why not explore by bike, which can be hired at
the entrance to the Trail. The Royal County Show Ground, which hosts a
number of events throughout the year (not least the County Show in June)
is also within easy walking distance. As the town has the first bridge
over the Camel estuary this means that within 5 -10 miles drive, you have
the choice of a number of glorious sandy surfing beaches including Harlyn
and Constantine Bay on the Padstow side of the river or Polzeath, near
Rock, on the other side of the river. Wadebridge is situated off the A39
and so a number of historic houses, beautiful gardens and the Eden Project
are easily accessible.
