The north Cornish coastal town of Tintagel well known for the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Due to coastal erosion the ruins of "King Arthur's Castle" can now only be reached by a bridge.  Tintagel castle is know maintained by English Heritage. There are many beaches in the area, for surfers Trebarwith and Bossiney are the main attractions, but the Castle Beach is renowned as a very safe bathing beach. For the visitor to Tintagel there are many attractions to see in the village apart from the cliffs area . Picture of spectacular waterfall - click to enlarge

Nearby is the lovely village of Boscastle, Delabole, Camelford and the pretty fishing village, Port Isaac.

Boscastle has had considerable publicity recently due to the  disastrous flood in 2004 and the BBC television series "A seaside Parish".  The village is gradually recovering from the floods and is gradually being restored.

This pretty village and harbour are located in the picturesque valley of the river Valency.  The village is a higgledy-piggledy collection of stone and slate cottages, shops and houses clinging to the steep hillside and nestling in the valley to either side of the river. The river meets the sea at the protected harbour, which at one time was a busy little port.  Boscastle contains a number of interesting  Craft shops, a Witches Museum, a former watermill, various shops, the Cobweb and Napoleon Inns and the Wellington Hotel.  The spectacular coastal path to the North climbs up to High Cliff, the highest point on the Cornish Coast.  Visit the golf page.
