Description

This traditional Cornish cottage, built in stone and slate and with open beams and tiled floor in part, has a relaxed and cosy feel with lots of character. It is located on the outskirts of St Columb Major in a beautiful countryside setting with access to 10 acres of fields that stretch down to lined meadows and ponds. The owners, who live in the adjacent house, have chickens, geese and ducks, so please ensure your dog is on a lead when enjoying walks. Walhalla Cottage has a pretty and secluded courtyard (real suntrap) with table and chairs and has a gravel drive and an ample parking area with flower borders. It is private and secluded and a great rural retreat, just over a mile from the quintessential English market town of St Columb which has convenience stores and pubs and there is a footpath which can be accessed to make the journey off-road should you so wish. It is fantastically situated for access to the lively resort of Newquay, the lovely sandy coves of Padstow, and the south coast of St Austell, Eden and beyond. Newquay has shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to top class restaurants of Rick Stein and Ainsworth's No 6 in Padstow, and Jamie Oliver has a Fifteen restaurant at the nearby spectacular Watergate Bay.

Guest Book

"Stayed at Walhalla for 19 nights. It was very pleasant and relaxing. Thank you."
Mrs L 27.04.2013
"We had a wonderful week at Walhalla Cottage, it was spotless, well equipped, full of character and very secluded, quiet and comfortable.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, as well as providing us with a homemade banana loaf and cream tea for when we arrived, making sure we had milk, tea and coffee which was a lovely touch after a long journey.
We have already recommended Walhalla to our friends and family and are looking at returning ourselves again soon."
Mr H 29.09.2012
