Description

This traditional Cornish cottage built in stone and slate and with open beams and a tiled floor has a relaxed and cosy feel with lots of character. Located on the outskirts of St Columb Major in the beautiful and idyllic countryside setting of 10 acres of fields, tree-lined meadows and ponds, Walhalla Cottage has it's own sun-trap patio and garden but you are also welcome to roam the surrounding land where the owners, who live in the adjacent house, have chickens, pigs and geese (so make sure your dog is on the lead!). This rural retreat is only just over a mile from the quintessentially English market town of St Columb which has convenience stores and pubs and there is a footpath which ensures that you can walk off-road most of the way. A 15 minute drive brings you to the lively resort of Newquay in one direction or the sandy coves near Padstow in the other. Newquay has shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to top class restaurants since Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant can be found in Padstow and Jamie Oliver has a Fifteen restaurant at nearby Watergate Bay.
