NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR 2008
Situated in a quiet
spot on this small development Nooks Cottage is an attractive property,
comfortably furnished and equipped to a good standard. The terraced garden
is a little sun trap and the main bedroom has countryside views out over
the estuary to the monument on Dennis Hill and beyond.
Sarah's View is a
design award winning, small, modern development of cottages on the
outskirts of Padstow; it is built on the side of a hill overlooking the
Camel estuary and many of these properties have countryside/estuary views.
Very few of these cottages are exactly alike and this creates a pretty and
individualistic feel to the development, which is now about twenty years
old. There are a number of parking bays as well as on street parking.
Sarah's View is about three quarters of a mile just under 10 minutes walk
(although you may take longer coming back as it is uphill!) from the
picturesque harbour in the town of Padstow - and 5 minutes walk from the
Camel Trail and the Saints Way. There is a Tesco supermarket just up the
road. Padstow is an historic working fishing port on the river Camel
estuary, with a beautiful unspoilt harbour and a maze of picturesque
narrow streets leading down to the harbour. Sailing and windsurfing are
popular on the estuary waters so yachts will often be found tying up next
to fishing boats off loading their catches into the waiting arms of the
chefs from the nearby seafood restaurants. A variety of fishing trips
leave daily from the harbour as well as speed boat and pleasure boat
rides. Within easy striking distance are magnificent walks along the
coastal footpaths and just a few miles down the coast are some of the
finest beaches in Cornwall; a number absolutely ideal for surfing the
rolling Atlantic breakers. There are championship golf links at Trevose
and St. Enodoc; a passenger ferry and water taxi runs across the estuary
to Rock. The route of the old railway track to Bodmin is now a
popular trail for cyclists and walkers and offers some wonderful
scenery along the way. These attractions become even more special out of
season when at times you can find yourself leaving the only trail of
footprints along the beach or driving the only car along the windy country
roads. Locals have more time to stop and chat and restaurants can give you
all the time in the world to sip your coffee! Christmas is a very special
time and the townsfolk go to great lengths to festoon the town with a
multitude of coloured lights.
