situated in a cul de sac, backing onto the road leading to the town and is
hence only a 7 minute walk down to the harbour. The coastal path out of
the town follows the Camel and this takes you to a beautiful sandy beach
in the estuary. The river is also popular for water sports such as
sailing and windsurfing. A short drive takes you to several superb sandy
beaches and the beautiful coastal path with its spectacular rugged
coastline, only a mile or two down the road. At the top of the town will
be found the historic and interesting Elizabethan manor house of Prideaux
Place, home of the Prideaux-Brune family, which is open to visitors during
the season.
