A guide to Cornwall parking

The most common way to reach Cornwall is by car, but those familiar with the county will also know that in busier seasons, finding somewhere to park can be a little tricky. So, to try and take some of the pain out of parking, we’ve put together this handy guide to parking in some of Cornwall’s most popular towns!


Padstow Parking

Padstow harbour

Link Road, Padstow, PL28 8AY (by the fire station) - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)


Harbour Car Park (South Quay) - managed by Padstow Harbour Commissioners

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • For enquiries, call 01841 532239 or call at the Harbour Office


Trevethan Farm - Long stay parking in Padstow

At the top of Sarah's Lane next to Tesco and opposite Sarah's Close PL28 8EL. It takes 7-10 minutes to walk to the harbour and there is a pavement all the way. Day or full-week tickets available. We advise that you make contact prior to your arrival - either by telephone 07909661395 - or by email - [email protected] to book a space.

There are two other car parks in the town, neither of which offer weekly tickets.

Helford Parking

Helford car park, TR12 6JU - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • 250 spaces

Porthleven Parking

  • Weekly tickets available (purchased via mobile phone system)
  • Hourly/day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • 57 spaces


Highburrow, Porthleven, TR13 9EU - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Very small car park – 12 spaces
  • No charge

Fowey Parking

Main, Fowey, PL23 1ET - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • 269 spaces


Caffa Mill, Fowey, PL23 1DF (next to the Bodinnick ferry) - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • This car park has some spaces for reserved permit holders only
  • 104 spaces


Readymoney, Fowey, PL23 1JD - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only).
  • 60 spaces


There are three other car parks in the town, none of which offer weekly tickets. 


Looe Parking

Long Stay - Millpool, West Looe, PL13 2AF - managed by Cornwall Council

  • This car park has some reserved spaces for permit holders only
  • 964 spaces
  • This is a pay-on-exit car park


Long Stay - Kilminorth Woods, West Looe, PL13 2AF - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • 24 spaces


Short Stay - Riverbank, East Looe, PL13 1HN - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine 
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • This car park has some reserved spaces for permit holders only
  • 65 spaces

Mousehole Parking

North Quay Car Park    

  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • 70 spaces
  • Parking is charged at £5.00 per day. It is also possible to pay for one or two hours at £1.00 per hour 
  • Payment can be by cash or contactless card


South Quay Car Park

  • Generally unavailable in the winter as it is used for storage of boats
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking is charged at £5.00 per day. It is also possible to pay for one or two hours at £1.00 per hour
  • Payment can be by cash or contactless card

Penzance Parking

Long Stay - Harbour, Penzance, TR18 2GB - managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only).
  • This is a pay-on-exit car park
  • There are some marked short-stay spaces in this car park. Parking in these spaces is 30 minutes or less with no return within 3 hours from 8am-6pm. After 6pm, these spaces can be used for long-stay parking


Long Stay - Wherrytown, Penzance, TR18 4NP- managed by Cornwall Council

  • Weekly tickets available
  • Day tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machine
  • Parking may be free at some times of the night
  • Rover tickets available - these enable you to park in a number of car parks across the county (cars only)
  • 58 spaces


There are other short-stay car parks in the town too.
