This charming property, situated in the foodie haven of West Looe, is ideal for a relaxing family holiday or a get-together with friends. Sleeping six across three comfortable bedrooms, this former sail loft is the perfect base for exploring this stunning part of South East Cornwall. East Looe Beach is less than a mile’s walk away, while seasoned walkers may prefer to walk 5 miles along the South West Coast Path to Polperro Beach and soak up the atmosphere in the pretty village.

This holiday home is laid out over three floors and has a bright and airy feel. Take a step up straight into the open-plan living area where you can snuggle up on the sofas in front of the flame-effect electric fire, or chat with the family chef at the breakfast bar while they cook up a storm in the kitchen. Exposed wood beams, low ceilings and beautiful tiled floors remind you of how old this Grade II-listed property is. Watch your head in the eaves of the twin bedrooms!

Take a boat trip to the Looe Island Nature Reserve with Looe Sea Safari (1 mile) where you may see nesting birds, grey seals and lots of wildflower meadows. Children may prefer to see the delightful monkeys at Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary (4.5 miles) or the rescued exotic animals at Porfell Wildlife Park (8 miles). Go for leisurely strolls around the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House and Garden (17 miles), or enjoy something a bit more adventurous at Siblyback Lake (14 miles) where you can try your hand at water sports, go cycling or walk the easy woodland trails.

Lovely place in great location which resulted in a great holiday but in need of light restoration. Parking is 1/5th of a mile up a steep hill which will be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Ended up paying around 100 on nearby car park.

Very happy to recommend Verbena after staying there for a weeks holiday. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and in a great position, being down on the flat in the town was ideal, no hills to climb unless you want to! There is a lovely pub (The Jolly Sailor) a short walk away and 2 very handy convenience stores nearby. It is in West Looe whRead moreere there are several restaurants and pubs and within easy walking distance to East Looe. The cottage is a positioned a few minutes walk from the ferry which takes you across to the east side and you can get on the Looe Land Train which takes you on a great ride around the town, you can get on and off at various locations. All in all had a great time and would highly recommend. Hide

The description of the property on the website was not fully accurate. Smaller than expected - no way suitable for 6 people who would have to use one bathroom. A good deal overpriced. Needs some modernisation - windows in particular need renovation. Noisy - from the pub to people passing very close by and seagulls on the rooof. The car park was furRead morether than expected and up a very steep hill (that was not mentioned in the details). Water from the shower is dripping downstairs even though we were careful to keep the floor in the bathroom dry.. also there was no mention of the difficult stairs which are not suitable for the elderly or those with disabilities. The property was lovely and clean, well equipped, walking distance to town. There is a nice little pub next door to the property and 2 little shops that has most things in if you run out of anything. People are very friendly and helpful.
