A delightful barn conversion in a peaceful rural setting is just a mile from the sea at picturesque Padstow. Sleeping four guests, the stone-built cottage exudes character and charm, with beams and a vaulted ceiling. Up to four pets are welcome, with dog-friendly beaches such as Harlyn Bay within easy reach. This thoughtfully furnished holiday home is the perfect base for families or friends planning to explore the delights of North Cornwall’s magnificent coast. You can walk to Padstow along a footpath close to the cottage, and the historic fishing port has a wealth of attractions.
The light and airy lounge/diner houses comfortable seating below a vaulted ceiling. A wood burner, art on the walls and a pretty dining area enhance the cosy atmosphere, with patio doors giving lovely countryside views towards the sea. Completing the ground floor is a country-style kitchen with low-level sink, and double bedroom with an en-suite wet room (with fold-down rail, grab rails, and call assistance button). A spiral staircase leads to a spacious first-floor twin bedroom and galleried landing overlooking the lounge. Outside is a spacious patio to the front with garden furniture, and a large area of lawn to the rear. Guests can use the field outside the lounge patio doors when there are no livestock grazing.
A short stroll down Padstow’s narrow streets leads to the busy working harbour, lined with colourful fishing boats. Buy a catch of the day or enjoy a meal at one of Rick Stein’s renowned seafood restaurants. Embark on one of the many boat trips offered at the quayside; they include wildlife sea safaris and a voyage along the spectacular North Cornish coastline aboard the veteran Jubilee Queen. Hire a bike or walk along the Camel Trail and admire beautiful estuary and country views. Enjoy sand, surf and splendid walks at Harlyn Bay (3 miles) and Trevone Bay (2 miles).
