Bring your delighted dog along with you too to the two-bedroom retreat that sleeps four guests and is set within the grounds of a hotel close to Trewhiddle, 1 mile from St Austell. As well as having access to the mature grounds, guests can also use the leisure facilities here, which include a swimming pool, tennis courts, steam room and sauna.

Wander into this attractive, timber-clad getaway to find it has a reverse-level design to enable you to lose yourselves in the leafy views from the beautiful living space upstairs. The bedrooms, a double and a super-king-size, which can also be made up as twins if discussed at booking, are downstairs. An en-suite bathroom and a family wet room are also here. Make your way up to the first floor to relax in comfort. Here you will find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling, where you can spend quality time together when you are not out and about. Prepare meals in the kitchen area, which has granite work surfaces, gather around the table to dine, and relax on the soft seating in front of the TV. On summer days, pull the doors open onto the balcony and unwind in the fresh air, taking in the views.

Follow footpaths through the grounds or head out of the estate to pick up the 3.5-mile Pentewan Trail. Enjoy family days out on the beach at Porthpean, 2 miles away, or Pentewan, 3 miles away. And look forward to long walks along the South West Coast Path. The Eden Project is 5 miles away too if you plan to visit the attraction during your stay.
