Property code: OC-4WITHE

With wonderful sea views, room for six guests and a welcome for three pets, a contemporary cottage in the pretty village of Perranuthnoe is perfect for families or a group of friends sharing. The property is less than 200 metres from a glorious sandy beach and has far-reaching sea views, with further coastal vistas from the enclosed rear garden. The quiet coastal village has an excellent local pub, as well as two popular seaside cafes, with more eateries and shops in picturesque Marazion, just 1.5 miles distant.

This delightful holiday home is furnished in a contemporary style, with a charming coastal vibe. The airy open-plan living/dining room has comfortable seating and a wood burner—ideal for those chilly evenings. It overlooks the garden towards the sea and there are more lovely coastal views from the first floor. This comprises a large bathroom with a shower and three restful bedrooms: a king-size, a double and a twin. Outside, there is a small front garden, while the rear courtyard garden has patio furniture from where you can drink in the view across Mount’s Bay.

A ramp gives easy access to Perranuthnoe’s golden beach, favoured by families and surfers alike for its large expanse of golden sand and rock pools. While seasonal restrictions apply, dogs can romp free on the beach during the rest of the year. A short, 200-metre stroll along the South West Coast Path rewards you with a sudden view of St Michael’s Mount at Marazion. The island is home to a medieval castle; depending on the tide, you can walk along the ancient causeway or hop on the ferry boat from Marazion (1.5 miles). From this charming village, you can walk or cycle along the 2-mile footpath to Penzance.

The fantastic location is the main selling point of this property. Perranuthnoe is a lovely place to stay with a great beach. The property is absolutely fine but could be elevated with a bit of time/money spent on tidying the garden and replacing the garden furniture and the sofa/armchairs. 3 big bedrooms, great seaviews from 2 of them. We have stayed at this property a number of times over the past couple of years, we have noticed a general decline in standards this year. The house needs a good refurb and painting, the paintwork is dirty especially downstairs, although the house is generally clean, the beds, bedding and towels were fine. There seems to be a general lack of attentRead moreion to detail, there's not a set of six of any type of glass or cup, only 2 wine glasses and one beer glass!!, the house is meant to sleep six!!. The mattress on the double bed in the front bedroom is very uncomfortable it needs replacing, one of the patio chairs is broken and was just left propped up against the wall, the garden front and back look generally unkept, the grass was cut this time but was so long in April we couldn't use the garden. We have loved staying here but the house needs some work done on it to keep it up with the standards of other properties for the same price. The positives are the house is in a lovely village with the beach, pub and two cafes on your doorstep. Hide

The cottage is well located and is only a short walk to the beach and SW coast path. The local pub was friendly and served good quality food. Across the road from the cottage was an excellent cafe. The cottage was clean. There were some things that were not so great. The garden was overgrown and untidy, which is a real shame as the cottage has a grRead moreeat view and was one of the reasons we booked, but this impacted enjoyment of sitting out. The cottage has been well loved (which is fine) but some items of furniture need replacing - the double mattress in the front bedroom was thin and uncomfortable, one of the patio chairs has a broken seat and needs repairing/ replacing. For 6 people, the cottage also needs more usable glasses/ cups - one pint glass and 2 wine glasses is not enough. Overall, it was OK because of the location but I probably wouldnt stay in this particular cottage again unless they resolve some of the issues mentioned above. Hide

A lovely cottage that easily and comfortably sleeps 6. The location and views were really special, close to the beach and two very nice cafe/restaurants and a very nice pub close by. So good we will be returning in 2025.

Although it could do with some tlc and a few minor, but important, improvements, this is a very nice, spacious house in a great location, with a small but attractive garden. We would book it again. A warm and comfortable house in a great location. The view was amazing. The house is very spacious and would be ideal for a relaxed family holiday near the beach. It could do with a bit of updating but is more than adequate. The village is very nice with a good pub and two cafes. We had a good week.

Lovely cottage in a lovely location. Stayed for Christmas week and managed to cook a full Christmas dinner in the more than adequate oven. It looks like the owners have taken note of past reviews by adding under cupboard lights and essential bits and pieces in the kitchen. Also fridge freezer was big enough to fit all our Christmas essentials inRead more. It would be nice to have a dish washer but that certainly didnt spoil things. The property is an end terrace with off road parking to the rear. It is a little dated and would benefit from some refurbishment especially the shower. The central heating was more than sufficient, but the wood burner was a nice to have and had to be used! Excellent location with easy access to the coastal path and local beach. Very good cafes and Read moresuperb food served at the local pub, all within 2 minute walk. Garden is not fully enclosed and has a low wall that dogs can easily jump. I only gave equipment 3 and not a 4 because I felt a few small items were missing such as hand soap both downstairs in the kitchen and upstairs. There is no hand basin in the toilet, though I understand the preference for a washing machine instead of a hand basin (washing machine was very useful) but liquid sanitiser in the toilet would have been uRead moreseful. Foil would have been useful as is not the sort of thing you think of bringing and more tea towels. also hooks in the bathroom and bedroom doors that are not the stick on variety as they just fall off with the slightest of weight. also the tv remotes really need checking every time as they had a real problem, maybe the batteries. time and time again this is a problem in rental properties as they are never thought to be checked properly. Comfort, generally very comfy, especially the bed which was wonderful. It was also lovely and warm, too warm in fact so we kept turning it off. a good size kitchen lounge and bedrooms too. The settee though was not very comfy for us. Generally we loved the cottage very much, especially the view and the proximity to the beach. I have stayed in Perran most years for 40 years. During childhood I stayed in 'Sunnyside' but now we have a dog and they do not take dogs and it is very expencive so I was very pleased to find 4 Withey cottage with a secure garden for our little dog. Please do not change the garden to AstroTurf monstrosity as that is no good for dogs, wildlife, or children's bare feet as it getting burning hot in the sun and just does not look like the Cornish countryside and a suitable foreground to the fields and sea view.
