Retreat to this enticing cottage in Padstow’s old quarter. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom hideaway makes a great holiday home for a small family or group of friends wishing to bring a canine companion on their escape to Cornwall. From here you can step out to wander around the town, with its interesting shops, galleries and eateries, and head out to nearby beaches or on long country and coastal walks.
Take a low step up to enter the pretty cottage and find yourselves in an inviting lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can spend quality time together during your stay. Settle back on the sofa in here to watch the Smart TV or a DVD. Light the wood burner on chilly days to cast a cosy glow across the room. Prepare light snacks and hearty meals in the kitchen area, with the freshly landed seafood you have bought in Padstow, then set the table by the window and gather round. There is also a WC downstairs at the cottage. At the end of each delightful day, head upstairs to enjoy a good night’s sleep in either the double room or the bunk bedroom, where the lower bunk is a particularly large single. The family bathroom is also up here. Sit outside on the patio to the front of the cottage on warm days to have coffee or even lunch out in the fresh air. Parking is in local pay car parks, subject to availability.
Pick up the Camel Trail in Padstow and cycle or walk out along the traffic-free route, which follows the estuary and river. Spend time on the picturesque, sandy beach at Harlyn Bay. Treyarnon Bay, 5 miles away, is also a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Take the children to the Camel Creek Family Theme Park, 5 miles away.
