This superb period house in a lovely rural setting near Bude is perfectly placed for families or a group of friends to enjoy a wonderful holiday together in North Cornwall. The property sleeps eight guests, along with one canine companion, and is exceptionally spacious. Comfortable and thoughtfully furnished throughout, it is full of character, with original ceiling beams in many rooms. The house is set in a quiet hamlet yet within 3 miles of seaside Bude with its shops, restaurants and glorious golden beaches.
On the ground floor, there are three light-filled rooms, all with cosy wood burners. They comprise the lounge, which has a TV, a sitting room and a formal dining room. A range oven and a breakfast bar are features of the superb farmhouse kitchen, while a utility room houses an American-style fridge/freezer. Upstairs, there is a family bathroom and four delightful bedrooms: two doubles and two twins. Outside, there is a large, shared garden and a private, enclosed courtyard patio to the front with wooden furniture and a built-in BBQ: perfect for relaxing at the end of the day.
Some of Bude’s gorgeous beaches have seasonal restrictions on pets, others such as Black Rock and Sandymouth are dog friendly throughout the year. The popular open-air, part-natural tidal lido (sea pool) is ideal for children and usually has lifeguards during busy periods. Atlantic rollers on this splendid coast are a magnet for surfers and beach surf schools are on hand to teach novices how to ride the waves. Historic Bude Canal is a great place to improve your skills with a canoe or kayak and you can walk your dog or cycle on the level path alongside. For glorious family fun, head for Widecombe Bay and get thoroughly soaked at the Monster Slip and Slide, a four-lane set of inflatables.
