Fling open the windows, hear the sound of seagulls in the distance and soak up the beautiful views over the estuary to Fowey at this seaside retreat. Only 200 yards from the quay and waterfront of Polruan, 25 Fore Street is a contemporary home-from-home within a traditional Grade II listed Cornish cottage. Whether cosied around the flickering flames of the wood burner or basking in the sunshine watching the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the water from the beautiful garden, you're sure to feel relaxed in no time.

Reflecting the coastal location, the interiors are decorated in seaside hues of crisp whites and deep blues with nautical details dotted throughout. Original features of the cottage such as exposed roof trusses, slanted ceilings, an open cast iron fireplace and wooden floors, combined with soft rugs, roof lights and even a freestanding roll-top bath create a cosy atmosphere for the whole family to unwind.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan boasts a maze of picturesque narrow streets sprinkled with a couple of pubs, a cafe and local shop; it still retains its unspoilt Cornish charm. For more shops and eateries, board the passenger ferry to Fowey (15 minutes), where you can access the stunning South West Coast Path. Those who fancy a challenge can hike from here to Polperro (7 miles), passing an abundance of hidden coves and sandy beaches along the way.

We stayed here for two weeks and absolutely loved it. The kids loved the harbour beach at the bottom of the road which meant some days we would have a leisurely morning followed by an afternoon sat by the harbour. Fowey is lovely and just a short ferry trip away. Par beach. down the coast, is lovely and not busy. Looe is a short trip away with moreRead more shops. The property was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this lovely property in a great location. Hide

A beautifully decorated, charming cottage with easy access to coast paths, Fowey, Polperro, Looe etc. 3 comfortable double bedrooms, cosy kitchen and relaxing sitting room with woodburner and smart tv. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage, great location. Loved getting the ferry over to Fowey most days. Garden could be tricky for the less mobile but we were fine and has the most beautiful views when you get to the top. Shame the kitchen table didn't seat 6 but we were lucky with the weather so sat outside every day. Because of location to supermarkets a separate freezRead moreer would have been handy but again don't let this out you off. All in all a lovely week in a gorgeous location. Hide
