Head out on foot across the beautiful countryside and enjoy the spectacular coast from this relaxing stone barn set on a farm. Ideal for exploring Devon and Cornwall, the four-bedroom abode sleeps six guests. Situated 13.5 miles from Bude and 17.5 miles from Bideford, it is one of three exclusive retreats on the 500-acre farm and comes with a garden for summer sunshine and a wood burner for winter warmth.

Wander inside to find gorgeous interiors that blend original stonework and beams with beautiful, modern-day touches. Spend your evenings together in the welcoming lounge, with its large window and honey-coloured, wooden floor. Light the wood burner in here to throw a cosy glow across the room and choose a DVD to watch on the TV. Relax on the soft seating and listen to music as you chat. Amble through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to prepare delicious meals for your party to enjoy at the table in here. The kitchen has been designed to feature everything you might need to assist you. There is also a handy WC downstairs. Make your way up to the first floor to find a family bathroom and all your bedrooms, which have gorgeous, sloping, wooden ceilings. These include two doubles, each with an en-suite shower room and TV, and two singles. Bask in the sunshine of your private garden on fine days, lighting the BBQ out here, perhaps, on summer days. Take the children and pets to play games on the large, shared, grassy space.

Head into Bude to go shopping, dine out and spend time on the beach at Summerleaze, where you can choose between the sea and tidal pool for dipping in. While away an afternoon at the National Trust’s picturesque Sandymouth Bay, 11.5 miles away.

We would definitely recommend this cottage. It was very clean and well stocked. We arrived late due to bad traffic to find that the owners had very kindly taken our Sainsburys delivery in and put it all away for us. They also left us a welcome package which was a lovely touch. The phone/wifi signal is poor as others have said but we prepared the kiRead moreds for this in advance and it was actually quite refreshing to have time without phones etc. The kids loved the outside area with the goals. Comfortable and convenient accommodation on a working farm in a beautiful and unspoilt part of England. Very friendly and hospitable hosts. Five stars for dog-friendliness!

The property is delightful and the countryside and coastal areas are wonderful. It is remote which affects transport and wi-fi reception, but some of the finest stretches of the South West Coastal path, and the longest waterfall in Devon are in walking distance from the property. The owners are very busy farmers but are helpful and obliging. Bring Read morefood for at least the first night. Its a long way to the shops. Hide

A fantastic cottage with all the creature comforts you could ask for, it's like a home from home. The welcome gifts were throughly appreciated and such a lovely thought. Spotlessly clean only downfall were the flies but what can you expect on a farm location was excellent not far from any location you wished to visit.
