Arnold Cottage is named for Sir Malcolm Arnold who used to live in the house next door called Primrose Cottage, which is also let by the same owner and could be booked together to provide accommodation for up to 16 people. However, the two properties are totally separate in terms of having their own car parking and gardens. Arnold Cottage has been totally refurbished in 2004 and the accommodation designed to be 'upside-down' so that the living room takes advantage of the lovely countryside views all around and the sea in the distance. The ever popular beach of Treyarnon Bay is just around the corner from Constantine Bay. Nestling in a rocky inlet this beach appeals to young and old having interesting rock pools (one big enough to swim in at low tide!) and lovely soft golden sand. As with most of the nearby beaches Treyarnon attracts surfers of all abilities - you will find a number of local shops to hire or buy equipment as well as a surfing lessons available. Padstow - only three miles away - is an historic working fishing port on the river Camel estuary, with a beautiful unspoilt harbour and a maze of picturesque narrow streets leading down to the harbour. Sailing and windsurfing are popular on the estuary waters so yachts will often be found tying up next to fishing boats off loading their catches into the waiting arms of the chefs from the nearby seafood restaurants. There are championship golf links at Trevose and St. Enodoc; a passenger ferry and water taxi runs across the estuary to Rock.
